ENEMLOS partners from Montenegro visited Regent's University

ENEMLOS partners from Montenegro visited Regent's University in London in the period from September 26 to 30, 2022 as part of a study visit planned by the project.

The delegation was received by the friendly host prof. dr Neven Anđelić, while it consisted of representatives of the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro headed by the Dean prof. dr Aneta Spaić; Supreme Court of Montenegro; Chamber of Notaries of Montenegro; Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution; and the Bar Chamber of Montenegro, represented by dr Nina Radulović.

All working meetings were held in the premises of the prestigious Regent's University in London, which is focused on providing topnotch higher education services to international students from all over the world.

The participants of the visit had the opportunity to learn about the study programs of the University and the developed standards in the field of teaching and student evaluation through interactive presentations. The management and professors of Regent's University presented a new concept of program planning that is aligned with the current needs of students and the labor market, and increases the prospects for employment of graduates. This aspect is particularly enhanced by Regent's University's membership on the renowned international online platform for connecting reputable employers and graduates HANDSHAKE.

The delegation had the opportunity to talk with Mr. Philip Benjamin, professor and former attorney at law, who presented the legal system of the United Kingdom and the specifics of the judiciary and the bar profession, focusing on the differences between precedent and European continental law. On this occasion, the participants exchanged experiences with special reference to Montenegrin law.

From the field of international law, the participants had the honor and pleasure of attending the UK session of the ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN JOURNALISTS (AEJ). On this occasion, the British attorney, renowned in the field of Human Rights Law, Mr. Aarif Abraham held a presentation on the topic: "Holding Russia Accountable for War Crimes in Ukraine". Opinions were exchanged on the legal and political possibilities of constituting an ad hoc tribunal for the aforementioned security crisis, that is, establishing an effective mechanism for determining responsibility. With the realization of the study visit, another phase of the ENEMLOS project was successfully completed, which in the future will be aimed at training students through practical work at the legal clinic under the mentoring supervision of academic and non-academic partners.

In addition to improving the higher education of lawyers, the added value of the project is the establishment of permanent connections and cooperation between academic and non-academic partners from the participating countries.
