Possibilities for the implementation of ENEMLOS discussed with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica
The project director, Dr. Nina Radulović, on Friday, November 13, 2020. had a discussion with the Deputy Head of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, Mr. Miroslav Turković regarding the modalities of implementation and cooperation on the ENEMLOS project. The discussion was conducted via a web application due to precaution related to the Corona virus pandemic.
The Project director explained the concept of the project and its goals and introduced Mr. Turković to the method of financing and the role of partner institutions. The talks were primarily focused on the implementation model that the Bar Chamber of Montenegro intends to apply, in order to adapt the idea of the legal clinic to the national legal framework and institutional capacities, also ensuring its long-term sustainability. Moreover, it is very important to generate conditions for enabling the legal clinic to provide an integrated legal service, which includes both the legal advice and the legal actions that are not possible without an active role of lawyers, emphasized Radulović.
State Prosecutor Turković welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness for cooperation and work on improvement of the proposed model, while respecting the experience and existent capacities of his institution, while respecting positive regulations. He also expressed reediness to include the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in the implementation of the project more actively, if the framework of the existing international agreement on its implementation allows so.
The parties concluded the communication with the wish for successful start of the project implementation, which will not be possible without the support of higher judicial instances, primarily the Supreme State Prosecutor' Office.
