Dialogue of the BC’s ENEMLOS team with the acting head of the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica
The project manager of the ENEMLOS project, Dr. Nina Radulović, with the secretary Ivana Aničić, were hosted by the acting head of the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, Ms. Lepa Medenica, on October 8 this year. The meeting was held on the subject matter of the mechanism of implementation of the ENEMLOS project in relation to the engagement of lawyers for official defenses according to national regulations.
Ms. Medenica pointed out a number of difficulties that could arise when including the ENEMLOS project in cases prosecuted at the initiative of their prosecution office, while Dr. Radulovic presented the implementation model, within the competences of the Bar Chamber, which integrates practical solutions for successful overcoming of the noted difficulties. The importance of acquainting students - participants of the clinic with the type of criminal offenses within the competences of the Higher Prosecutor's Office was highly emphasized.
The participants agreed that it is very important for the national legal system to make progress in terms of the early inclusion of young legal professionals within a context of real life cases. A mutual belief has been expressed that the meeting in question is the beginning of a beautiful future cooperation that shall enable the achievement of the mentioned goal.
Dr. Radulović announced and informed about the need and intention to hold similar meetings with authorized representatives of other judicial institutions relevant for the implementation of the project. Primarily, these are institutions of higher judicial instance, which are signatories to the international agreement on the implementation of the ENEMLOS project. Moreover, dialogue shall be open with equally important institutions of lower legal instance directly responsible for the legal cases that are in the focus of the project, because the key for the success of the project relies in the exchange of experiences, ideas and good will.
